Govardhan Puja 2025: Govardhan Puja is a festival for all of us that touches the heart. It is also called Annakoot Utsav, and it is celebrated on the Pratipada of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. Remember that story of how Lord Krishna lifted Govardhan Mountain on his little finger to save the people of Braj from the anger of Indra. This puja is done in his memory. Cows are worshiped, considering them to be the form of Goddess Lakshmi, and they also remember Lord Krishna and Mount Govardhan in a special way. It is celebrated with great pomp in North India, especially in Mathura, Vrindavan, Nandgaon, Gokul and Barsana—seeing the atmosphere there makes one happy!
Govardhan Puja in 2025 is on October 22nd. The Pratipada date began yesterday at 5:54 pm and will continue until 8:16 pm tonight. Get ready quickly!
The best time for puja is when all the planets and stars are favorable. So, here are today's auspicious times—choose any of these, but the morning one seems best:
When does the muhurat start?
Get up early in the morning, take a bath, and begin; you'll receive blessings for the day.
